The mandatory evacuation for Calcasieu Parish has been lifted. Residents returning home are urged to avoid Highways 165 and 171 as there is a danger of fallen trees. Authorities recommend using Interstate 10 and 49 to return home.
Be sure to stock up on gas and groceries before returning as well since these items are temporarily limited.
The Lake Charles/Southwest Louisiana Convention & Visitors Bureau will reopen on Thursday, September 4 at 8:00 a.m. All employees should now make plans to return home.
